GWS is being designed for women with different amounts of time, skills, and interest. A first experience can stand on its own or become the beginning of something more.

GWS is developing its first pilot with Rotary-connected communities and other local partners. We plan to review each opportunity for local need, clear volunteer roles, host readiness, and a responsible participant experience.
The long-term vision includes trained women hosts, leadership learning, curated gatherings, and service relationships that continue beyond one visit. GWS is independent and is not a Rotary International program.
Service first. People always.
The opportunity should begin with a genuine local need and a defined role for volunteers. GWS is developing a standard for reviewing projects, preparing hosts and participants, and learning from the experience afterward.
- Locally led: the host organization identifies the work and remains responsible for the project.
- Clear expectations: tasks, time, costs, accessibility, qualifications, and support should be described before someone commits.
- A real welcome: participants should know who is expecting them and who to contact with a concern.
- Room to continue: feedback and follow-up can open a path into more service, friendship, or leadership.
Leadership training for hosts and participants, curated service gatherings, and future retreats are part of the developing vision.
